Hello, I am Emma
Project manager. Parent. Expat residing in Toronto, Canada.
A few years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Relocating to Canada wasn't part of our long-range plan. Like many international moves, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far larger.
The first months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt more complex than they should.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But slowly, routines formed. We discovered places that worked for us, met other families, and started building something that felt stable.
Why I Built SimpleValleyLoop
Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or tourist material at a superficial level. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site exists to fill that gap — practical guidance grounded in real life in Canada.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site is:
- Hands-on experience from living in Canada
- Centered on family life and everyday realities
- Updated whenever something meaningful changes
This site isn't:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- A platform for sponsored reviews
- A generic travel blog
Moving Forward
Our stay in Canada continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep recording what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Toronto or anywhere in Canada, don't hesitate to get in touch.
Cheers,
Emma
